Use the bag portion of the Daisy Chain PDF to plan an open floral bag with a separate fabric lining.

This independently written planning companion uses US crochet terminology. The accompanying Reel is an AI-generated illustration, not a verified finished sample or a stitch tutorial. Read the material and size specifications

The bag instructions use Bernat Satin in Orange, Yellow and Aqua, one 100 g ball of each color, a 5 mm hook, a pair of 6-inch-wide handles and half a yard of lining fabric. The finished bag is approximately 11½ inches wide and 12 inches high excluding the handles. Gauge is 14 double crochets and seven rows per 4 inches, and a daisy motif is approximately 4 inches.

Understand the construction

Two rings of six daisy motifs form the open sides, followed by orange top and bottom sections. Handle extensions fold around the rigid handles. A separately sewn fabric lining sits behind the open flowers; the PDF provides its cutting size and seam method. The same file also contains poncho instructions, which use different quantities and assembly.

Keep the bag section separate

Mark the start of the bag instructions and write its dimensions on your project notes. Check the first motif before joining a complete ring. Yellow and aqua petals surround orange centers, making color order easy to check while the motifs lie flat.

Choose the handles before finishing

Measure the handle width against the source requirement before completing the top extensions. Pin the fabric around the handle to check its fit, then follow the attachment directions. A handle that looks similar may still need a different opening.

Fit the lining to the finished shell

Let the crochet relax before fitting the lining. Keep the top edge and bottom corners supported without stretching the flower openings. The fabric lining is part of the pictured design and should remain visible behind the open motifs.

How to read the illustration

The illustration uses more, smaller six-petal flowers in three visible rows. The PDF specifies two rows of six motifs around the bag, each motif about four inches. The white area represents fabric lining; it is not a white crochet background. The close-up shows generic orange border work, not the full flower or joining sequence. Use the official PDF for the complete construction and stitch sequence.
